Employers, business owners and property owners are required to have the property or workplace audited so that asbestos materials are identified and safely managed. The workplace asbestos audit is called Division 5 asbestos audit.

A Division 6 asbestos and hazardous material audit is an intrusive type of building inspection designed to identify the type, condition and location of asbestos that may be hidden behind other materials.
A Division 6 asbestos audit is required before building refurbishment or demolition works can occur.
